Creating a visual language to celebrate Scotland’s finest screen talent
The background
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts is an independent charity recognising excellence in film, television and video games. As well as celebrating both established and emerging talent, BAFTA promotes and drives progress in accessibility, inclusion and sustainability in the screen arts.
The brief
Each year, we are invited to create a compelling design theme for BAFTA Scotland’s red-carpet awards event that must work seamlessly across print, digital and stage.
What we did
We collaborate with the BAFTA Scotland team to produce a unique look and feel that captures the excitement and prestige of the event, while honouring the integrity of the overarching master brand. Our design solution is brought to life across event programmes, interview backdrops and an assortment of animated stings for the big screen.
“Material are an absolute delight to work with. Our awards are an extremely busy andstressful time for us, so it is a relief to knowthat we can count on an agency like Materialwho require little direction from us in orderto provide event collateral to the highestof quality. Our design work is always built out from asound rationale. We know we’re in safe hands with the design team at Material.”
