Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsive labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.
Material recognises its moral and social responsibility to take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in all forms, in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. As a small agency, with a rigorous recruitment process, we undertake appropriate due diligence to ensure there is no slavery, forced or compulsory labour or human trafficking within our workplace. We are also commited to esuring, as far as we are able, that our supply chain (including sub-contractors) do the same. All Material employees are expected to highlight any concerns using the appropriate reporting channels.
This policy has been approved by our Company Director, Colin Spence, and will be reviewed annually.
