Highlighting the power of active listening through an augmented reality experience
The background
Bonded by the shared belief in providing the best support to people with financial worries, Standard Life became a founding partner of the Samaritans Training School, an initiative to recruit and train more listening volunteers. In turn, colleagues within Standard Life’s Vulnerable Customer Team received training from Samaritans on how to support someone who might be struggling to cope.
The brief
Standard Life came to us to highlight this partnership, and the specialist training delivered to the Vulnerable Customer Team delivered by Samaritans Training and Engagement Programmes (STEP).
What we did
We worked with Standard Life to create a virtual reality experience which celebrated the partnership and provided an interactive educational platform for the user.
The result was S.H.A.R.E. – an experience which reflected the components of Samaritan’s Listening Wheel, which introduces active listening techniques and how these can be applied when speaking to someone vulnerable.
The experience was fronted by an emotive hero film which highlighted the specialist training received by Standard Life’s Vulnerable Customer Team, before guiding the user through components of active listening using S.H.A.R.E.
