Building a virtual gateway to the University of Strathclyde
The background
Based in the heart of Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde is a leading business and technological university with a vibrant multicultural community of around 30,000 students from more than 140 nations.
The brief
As international student recruitment becomes increasingly challenging and competitive, the University of Strathclyde sought to innovate by using different mediums to showcase its campus and facilities to a global audience.
The goal was to provide an engaging, high-quality experience that would allow international students to get a deeper sense of the campus, student accommodations and key landmarks beyond the standard print and digital materials.
What we did
Strathclyde wanted to create an immersive 360° virtual reality experience to help prospective students explore the university and the vibrant city of Glasgow remotely.
Material created ‘Strathoscope’, a fully immersive 360° virtual reality experience designed to help prospective students explore the university and the vibrant city of Glasgow, remotely.
Powered by the Meta Quest 3 headset, we worked closely with the university to develop an intuitive, user-friendly app that lets prospective students explore Strathclyde’s campus, student accommodations and surrounding Glasgow landmarks in vivid detail. The experience features high-quality 360° videos, guided by a virtual companion, allowing users to seamlessly navigate through academic spaces, social hubs and iconic city locations.
The app was designed to be easily integrated into recruitment events and serve as a compelling, accessible introduction to life at Strathclyde, regardless of the student's location.
